Bryn walked into her new room. Apparently she was sharing the building with some other girls, but they weren't anywhere to be seen. She set her things down on the bed, and plopped down. Over two months ago, Bryn had started developing weird powers. And by weird, that meant she woke up one morning, and in a Kafka-esque scene, realizing she was a cockroach. Thankfully, just by concentrating her energy, and thinking about it, she managed to transform back into a human. She didn't mention this to her dad, and tried changing into other things. The first time, she tried to change and passed out on the floor. Her next memory was of sitting in the emergency room, about to get stitches in a large gash on her head. A week later, after the stitches were out, she tried again, this time changing into a horse in the middle of her bedroom. That one was difficult to hide from her dad, especially when he heard the sound of hooves clattering around her bedroom. Scarcely a few days later, her final two forms manifested. Both her falcon form and her wolf form took less energy to change into, and felt more natural. Everything had been fine until a week ago, when her dad had found out. He knew what to do, having heard about the kids developing powers on the news. He sent her away to the Ashburn Island Academy, where she was now. Bryn looked around, surveying the room. Sunlight filtered through the window, making her strawberry blonde hair glow. She smiled, and stretched out on the bed, cramming her earbuds into her ears. Her iPod wasn't new at all, but it worked for her. She put it on shuffle, and closed her eyes for a well needed nap before unpacking.

-- Rhapsody was on her way back to her dorm room. She had taken a long walk around the grounds. It was gorgeous day out, and her dark hair was warmed by the sun. It was a wonderful place here. She felt lucky to be able to come here. It made her sad that other students didn't feel the same way. She didn't get in a hurry, and stepped off the sidewalk into the grass and slipped off her shoes, wiggling her toes in the grass. Rhapsody loved feeling the earth beneath her feet, connected to her. She could close her eyes and walk along, knowing every hill and bump and hole and everything. It was a wonderful connection. She was even more excited because she had heard of a few new students!
-- She slipped her shoes back on as she stepped inside the housing building. Rhapsody hoped she would be able to meet the new girls today, or at least sometimes soon. She did need to start on her homework though. She walked through the halls, stopping outside one of the rooms. A girl was laying on the bed with earbuds in. This must be one of the new students. She wondered what type of power she had. Rhapsody knocked rather loudly on the door. "Mind if I come in?" She asked, hoping she wasn't interrupting.

Although she wasn't quite asleep yet, the other girl coming in did startle Bryn. She let out a little yelp, and before she realized what was happening, she had changed into a cockroach. 'Damn it!' she thought. Surprise changing happened a lot, mostly because Bryn was easily startled. Generally, she transformed into a cockroach, because that was the form she could take with the least amount of energy used. Realizing how strange this must look to the other girl, Bryn focused her energy on changing back to a human. The first time she changed back, it was excruciatingly painful, but the more she changed, the less it hurt, until it became almost painless. There was a little bit of a twinge when she changed to a cockroach, but that was part of the exoskeleton thing. She felt a warm tingling feeling spreading throughout her body, as she changed back into a human. She wasn't quite sure how weird the transformation looked, but she was pretty sure it looked weird. The tingling stopped, and she was human again. When Bryn's dad had told her she was coming to this place, she decided on one thing: She was going to strive to become less shy. 'Looks like I'm getting my first chance.' she thought. “Yeah. Go ahead.” she replied. She was still on her back on the floor from her surprise change. She stood up, and held her hand out. “I'm Bryn Dolecki, and as you can see, I can change into animals.” Bryn had thought she would feel nervous meeting new people, but she actually felt calm and relaxed. It was strange, but she wasn't about to argue with positive emotions.

ooc; sorry it's so short. my muse decided to stage a revolt :p
-- Rhapsody felt bad that she had startled the girl, but became very surprise when she turned into a cockroach! Rhapsody definitely hadn't been ready for that. The girl must be able to transform into animals. Within a few seconds, the girl had transformed back into a human. Rhapsody was amazed at the process. She had never seen someone morph before. A smile broke across Rhapsody's face as the girl told her she could come on in.
-- "Nice to meet you. I'm Rhapsody Haydon. I'm an earth elemental. Is it pretty cool to be able to morph into animals?" She asked smiling. Rhapsody couldn't even imagine what it would be like. She wondered if it hurt or anything, or what animals Bryn could morph into. Rhapsody had dozens of questions running through her mind at the moment. She always got this way when she met someone new though.

OOC-It's alright! Bryn smiled. The girl seemed incredibly nice. If everyone at the academy was like this, she would have no problems talking to people. Bryn stretched. Despite the fact that she was used to the transformation by now, she still felt stiff every time she came back to human form from a cockroach. She bent over, and picked up her iPod, which had been thrown from her ears when she was a cockroach. She shut it off, and threw it on her bed. “Its nice to meet you, Rhapsody.” Bryn said politely. “Yeah. It's really cool. It does take a lot of energy from me, though. Which reminds me,” She opened up her bag, and pulled out a protein bar. “I've found that these are fairly good after I've changed. You want one?” Bryn pulled the wrapper open, and took a bite. “So whats it like to be able to control the earth?” she asked timidly. She plopped down on her bed next to her bag, and gazed around the room. She felt much more relaxed now that she knew Rhapsody's name. Something about knowing someone's name made that person feel less like a stranger, and more of an acquaintance.

-- Rhapsody was glad to see the smile on Bryn's face. She was really pretty. Rhapsody studied her for a brief moment. She was really glad Bryn was nice and polite, and friendly. "Sure." Rhapsody said happily. You could never have too much protein, and she was kind of hungry. "It's actually cooler than it sounds. I have a sort of connection with the earth as well." She loved talking about her power, but she didn't want to sound like she was bragging or anything. "What animals can you morph into?" Rhapsody asked her curiously. She sat down in a chair opposite the bed where Bryn had sat down.
-- She loved meeting new people, and was glad she had met Bryn. The girl seemed really nice, kind of shy, but really nice. There were tons of people that weren't so nice here, but Rhapsody didn't mind them. She figured there was some good reason they acted the way they did. She always found the good in people, which was both a blessing and a curse. Rhapsody broke away from her thoughts, which usually got her distracted and focused back onto the conversation she was having with Bryn.

Bryn tossed a protein bar over to Rhapsody. That was one especially good thing about being able to change into animals: amazing reflexes. She could catch anything. It was pretty cool. “A connection with the earth?” she said out loud “That must be amazing! I'm guessing you don't like flying then.” she laughed a little bit. She loved flying. It was her release. The sky was so open, it was impossible to feel trapped like she usually did. When she was a kid, her twin brother Nikolai had shoved her into a chest freezer, where she had almost froze to death. Now, any small spaces or rooms packed full of people made her nervous. The sky was the least enclosed space she could find anywhere, so she spent a lot of her time flying. “Obviously, I can change into a cockroach, which I hate. But its good for sneaking out.” she grinned mischievously. “I also can change into a wolf, a horse, and a falcon. Although, my personal favorite is the falcon. Flying is the most amazing feeling.” She took another bite of her protein bar. She could already feel her energy restoring. Maybe later she'd go for a flight around the island. That sounded nice. -- Rhapsody smiled and said thanks as she unwrapped the bar halfway and took a bite. It tasted good and hit the spot. "Yeah. I'm like an Earth bender. I love it." Rhapsody grinned widely. "Nope, not at all. Also why I have a dorm on the ground floor." She giggled. "But being able to change into animals!? How sweet!" Rhapsody exclaimed. She really thought that would be so cool to be able to turn into an animal, even a cockroach. They kind of creeped her out, but it would still be cool.
-- She listened intently as Bryn talked about changing into an animal. "I bet that would be so cool!" Her voice was full of exitement and wonder. There wasn't anything Rhapsody loved more than listening to people talk about their powers. "I bet flying would be awesome, but obviously I don't think I could handle it." She chuckled.

As he teleported Josh appeared in front of a wall looking confused then the sound of giggling hit his hears, girls giggling. It sounded like Josh wasn't focused on where he was going and ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Slowly turning around he saw two girls in the room with him, lucky they had there backs to him so he could ether figure where the hell he was or just teleport to were he started. "Ehhhh ladies I do not want to intrude but could you possible tell me where I am" Josh was still confused and blushing. There where a couple of places he could have ended up, girls' dorm or some random room, but the looks of it, it seems to be the first thought which to him wasn't good at all. Well it was because he was in the girl's dorm.
'Think Josh, what to do, what to do. Could just teleport back but then the headmaster would just find you and then you are in trouble or explain yourself hoping they don't rat you out, you haven't seen them naked or worse ended up in the girl's shower' thought Josh trying to figure things out. "You see I have this thing were if I think about something else while I teleport I ended up in a random place, so no I am not a pervert, just my power is" smiled Josh a little"

-- Rhapsody was talking to Bryn when she heard a masculine voice coming from behind them. Everyone knew that boys weren't allowed in the female dorms and vice versa. She knew that rule was quite frequently broken, but not in broad daylight! Rhapsody thought the voice sounded familiar, but she couldn't place it. She turned around slowly and a huge smile broke across her face. "Hey Josh!" She said grinning. Rhapsody contained a giggle at his bright pink cheeks.
-- "You are in a girl's dorm room. And this is Bryn, Bryn, this is Josh. He can teleport." She introduced them quickly. "It's okay. We won't tell." Rhapsody said, winking playfully. She knew that Josh wouldn't purposely teleport to a girl's room. If he had, his cheeks wouldn't be all red. "How are you doing?" She asked sincerely. Rhapsody had thought she and Josh had hit it off when the first met in the cafeteria, and she was excited to get to talk to him again.

Bryn was shocked to see the guy teleport into the room. She shouldn't have been, seeing as she was at a school for people who had special powers, but she was. She tried not to giggle at the guys obvious embarrassment. That would have been rude. Bryn smiled. “Hi Josh. Teleportation, huh?” she said. “Sounds pretty cool. I can change into animals. Rhapsody got a little demonstration of that a few minutes ago.” Bryn laughed lightly. She wasn't very with trying to judge what people will be like, but Josh seemed pretty cool. There were so many people at the school, Bryn knew she wouldn't remember them all. The only thing she knew about Josh was his name, his power, and that he was a senior. He truly did look embarrassed at his mistake. “Yeah, don't worry. We won't say anything.” She had been back at the academy for only a few hours, and she was already doing better than ever before. Bryn was actually being social. Usually that right was reserved for her twin brother only. She remembered the look on his face when she left town again. Being without her brother was like being without an arm. She turned her attention back to Josh and Rhapsody, and their current conversation. [/sub]

Another girl he did not know, smiled at him and Josh smiled back. Rhapsody introduced her friend as Bryn, she was a lovely girl, blonde hair, cute. "You can change into animals, that must be cool and difficult when you were a kid" Josh knew what it was like having his power as a, going around places not knowing how to control it, until he came to this school. He teleported to the door and locked it, turning slowly he looked at the girls "You know what it is better if I just unlocked, if anyone comes in I can just disappear" said Josh unlocking it then teleporting on Rhapsody's bed. "Did you girls hear that there might be a villian coming to the school or trying to take it over, so I have been told" Josh looked to the floor saying it then looked up "I just hope that it doesn't take it over, if it does then that guy knows all of are weakness, strengths".
"If students join the villian's side, then we have a war. To me a war is something I just can't be bothered with" laughing a little then looking a Rhapsody "I am more of a lover than a fighter". Standing up he tried not to stand so close to Rapsody, her scent made his brain go a little fuzzy and his cheeks to go red. "Just be careful you too, I think the headmaster isn't sure weather or not to have a meeting about it with the students. I think she should, other wise the students will be caught of guard" said Josh hoping the girls weren't looking at his face.
