Personality: Tony is well known for his constant flirtation with nearly every woman he encounters. He has an expensive taste in clothing evidenced by his love for designer names. Though he is in his 30's, he typically shows teenage behavior. He is considered to be very loyal to his coworkers at Ashburn.
Tony is almost constantly talking about his latest girlfriend - or one-night stand; however, he tries to hide his current one. He pursues girls on a regular basis, typically indiscriminately. Most of these relationships fail to progress past a certain point, and he has admitted to have commitment issues.
His expensive tastes in clothing come from living a rather lavish childhood. His family has a lot of "old money", his great grandfather and grandmother having started a very lucrative transportation business in the New York City area. He grew used to having nice things, and continues to have nice things as an adult.
Like any single guy in his thirties, Tony is often immature. He'll party like he's back in college at a frat party. He's a social drinker who loves loud music and dancing, and can often be seen at night clubs during weekends.
This loose playboy personality hides a very keen intellect. Tony has a registered IQ of 180, a pure genius who studies the hidden meanings in old English literature for fun. He loves to read everything. Songs, poetry, books, movie scripts, plays... it matters not, he'll read it. He is well versed in the Bible as well, and is also a Roman Catholic.
Tony is fiercely loyal to his students and fellow co-workers, willing to do anything to help them if they are in need. He's even put himself in harm's way several times to save a few students from getting attacked by normal humans.
Powers: - - Gravity Control
Tony's greatest power is the control of gravity. He can manipulate it around anything. He can use it to float his way to the top of a skyscraper, then crush it by increasing his own gravity. That's just one of the ways the man has come up with to use his powers. He can also manipulate the gravity of other objects in the same way, such as stopping bullets by making them to heavy to fly, or making a person's arm so light that a punch from them feels like the touch of a feather.
- - Mild Telekinesis
Tony's telekinetic powers are merely limited to pushing, pulling and lifting, which enables him to fly with his gravity control.
Skills:
- - A Master's Degree in English
He's studied years to get it, even with his genius IQ. He knows, almost literally, everything there is to know about the English Language.
- - Some control of Italian
Being a third generation Italian-American, he's had to learn a bit of the language, insisted on by his grandfather when he was young. He can't discuss global warming with it, but Tony can carry on small, basic conversations in the language.
- - Powerful observational skills
Tony can read body language as well as any book, and uses this to teach. He knows how to read his class to see if they are bored or if they are struggling, and he adjusts accordingly. He also uses it to figure out a person's problems so he can help.
- - Superior Physical Fitness
Being one of the Gifted was rough. They say that genius also inspires resentment. Having both is a sure fire way to get mercilessly teased. This pushed Tony to train his body, taking up martial arts, weightt training, swimming, and many other activities to train his body.
History: Tony was born to a rich Italian-American family thirty two years ago, to a Mr. Giovanni and Amelia Calamia. Giovanni was the grandson of a transportation mogul who came to America in the early 1900's to start a life and ended up starting a business empire in New York that streches from a taxi fleet to cruise lines. Tony grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth, learning the family business as he grew older.
Fast forward 14 years. Tony was a freshman in high school, and the "Gifted" phenomenon was an interest of his. Having such profound mental abilities, he was often bored in his school hours and often cut up in class for entertainment. He didn't skip grades, as he saw little point in being bored and the youngest. One day, however, he picked up a book about "Gifts" for a class reading assignment. He read it once, twice, then started to frequent his library, reading every book in the building on the subject. Then, he branched off. He found that he learned more from reading than he ever did in class. Law books, magazines, it mattered not. The English language was so vast, it covered subjects that Tony didn't even know exist until he read about them.
Naturally, this stimulated his brain and kicked it into overdrive.
It started slowly, his evolution. His gift wasn't really noticable, and he discovered it secretly while trying to reach a book on a high shelf. It came right to his hands. He began to study and train his Gift, using his knowledge gained from his books. Tony became proficient at his ability, but was mildly disappointed when he learned his gift's limits.
Later, he'd wonder if his brain just evolved out of boredom to give him a new power.
His gravitational powers manifested two years later, where he was in gym one day.
Rope climbing was the task the coach had set for the day. A physically weak young man, Tony had to race to the top with one of the faster football jocks. Tony began mentally commanding the other boy to be heavier or something, just to slow him down. He was surprised when the rope snapped in half and the other boy fell, hitting the ground hard and leaving a hole in the floor. Some of the students saw this, and put two and two together. They attacked him, and Tony used his powers to push them all away, where he ran out the door and left the school behind.
He spent the last two years of high school homeschooling himself, and managed to get into a college where Gifted Humans were accepted. He got his master's in English and is currently working on his Doctorate. He found a job at Ashburn, a place where he could use his vast knowledge to improve the world. This attitude carried him, despite his eccentric character flaws, to a coveted posistion- Secondary Headmaster, the guy in charge when the boss was away for business.
