Quiet Time in the Library! {Open!}

With a small smile, Lillian slapped shut the book she was reading and placed it on the table next to her. She stretched her arms up above her head, trying to get the kinks out of her joints - she had been sitting there for quite a while reading. It was kind of quiet in the library, as it always was, but she felt a certain extra quietness. Students all around her were studying hard for exams with the intent of passing with flying colors. She had been lucky, considering she had no exams this week. Therefore, her time would be spent here, in the library, as she read the rest of the book she had started reading a few days so.

She stood up from her comfy chair and took a look around, trying to remember where she had pulled the book from. With a sudden realization, she started off towards the row that was a couple of isles away from where she had found her chair. Locating the row was easy enough, but she had to look back at the numbering on the spine of the book in order to figure out where it would go. She passed a librarian who gave her a look she recognized as "Here again, are we?" and she smiled in response, giggling. The librarian walked off, picking up books to relocate on her way.

Finding the location of the book, Lily tried to reach high up to place it back in its spot, but she couldn't quite reach. Glancing around again, she spotted one of those foot stools that were meant to give you a boost in height. She pulled it over, and stood up on it, and still only barely reached. She shoved the book back into its location, but lost her footing in the process, and fell backwards. She hit the shelves behind her and slid down to the floor, with most of the books falling on top of her. She rubbed her head and opened her eyes up to most of the students in the library staring at her. She smiled and gave a lazy thumbs up, although they all still looked pretty surprised.

Tony sighed as he awoke, wondering what he was going to do today. It was a weekend, and for once, he didn't have a date to get ready for, anything major to do as a school administrator, and given that it was a Sunday morning, he didn't have to teach. Sometimes, Tony'd go to church, but he wasn't exactly the most devout Catholic.

He sighed once again, feeling that the day was going to be rather boring. The professor debated in bed, but he knew he wouldn't get back to sleep. So, the gravity manipulator rose from the mattress.

The man headed to his bathroom, showered, shaved, and got ready for the day.

He hadn't read any books in a while, and the librarians had mentioned yesterday that they had recently gotten in a new shipment of nonfiction books about Ancient Greece that he hadn't read.

Maybe he could find something in there that could make him think.

Tony loved teaching, but there weren't any mental challenges that made him have to think. No, the challenges that teaching threw at him, especially here, didn't require a genius IQ but a smooth tongue, something he had in spades.

The English Professor sighed heavily again, and headed out the door of his apartment.

A few minutes later, the professor found himself on the bottom floor of the library, close to a girl who was trying to reach to put a book up. He reached out to help her, being a taller person, but it was too late.

The student fell backwards, and hit the shelf behind her, making books fall on her.

"So much for an uninteresting day...."

The man reached out to help the girl up, only to realize that she was one of his students this semester.

"Ah, Lillian. Did you have a nice trip?"

The professor felt an amused grin light up his face, but it wasn't to make fun of her. Just to tease the girl.

"Let me help you there. "

Lillian almost jumped when she turned and saw her professor standing there. By the look on the man's face, he'd seen the whole thing. Well, that was pretty embarrassing! Blushing lightly, the girl took his hand and pulled herself up, reacting positively to his mocking gesture. "Yeah, yeah. You know, you can start calling me Lily any day now!" she laughed, and brushed invisible dust off of herself.

"Thanks!" she exclaimed, glancing around at all the fallen books. "My bad..I guess I thought I could reach by myself." She bent over and started picking the books up off of the floor, and turned back to the shelf, frowning when she realized that she didn't know where any of them went. "Aw man, the librarians are gonna kill me!" she complained, and looked to the professor for help.

Then she remembered something. "Oh! Since I have you here, I wanted to ask when the essay was due that we had to write? I haven't started it yet... And I don't really know what to write about." She flashed him a grin, although it was kind of a nervous one for she knew he might scold her for procrastinating for so long.
