the courtyard is located behind the main bulding, and is where students usually hand out when they have a small break. benches line the walkways and in the center is a large, marble fountain.

Sub-board: g r e e n h o u s e

any questions can usually be answered by the receptionist stationed here. the front lobby contains a large sitting room with comfortable couches and many bookshelves. the door to the left leads to the teacher's lounge, and the door to the right leads you into headmistress burke's office.

contain the boys, girls, and teacher's dorms on a different level. each room houses three students and has an en-suite bathroom and kitchenette area.

students may not, under any circumstances go to the third level, where the teacher's dorms are located.

the first floor holds general classes such as math, english, history, art, and science. second floor holds the power control classrooms. if you are unfortunate enough to get a detention, it is located in the basement beneath the school.

the gym has a track, pool, and top of the line work out equipment.

the library at ashburn academy is every bookworm's dream. the library is three floors, the first two hold every possible book you can think of and is sorted by language. the third floor contains computers for research and other (appropriate) activities. there are also plush, comfortable chairs for reading.

the cafe is open twenty-four hours, and brags about serving the best coffee on the island. it sits near the hotel and opposite of the park. a lot of students come here for a caffein induced energy buzz.

the park stretches several miles through the city. the lake lies at the north end, and is a favorite spot of all ages. canoes and paddle boats frequently dot the lake. the park is filled with trees, statues, and benches. different wildlife native to the island can be seen throughout the park.

sacred haven hospital is the primary medical facility and is located in the middle of the island.

the shopping center is one of the island's main attractions. it has three levels and has pretty much every store you could think of, including a small cinema and an arcade.

away from the main city, the island is mostly uninhabited. surrounding the island are beaches and coves, which the students frequently visit. farther inland, there are small lagoons, forests, and meadows.

a few of the places on the island are sacred spots to the natives and students may not go there without an adult or professor.

students are also allowed to come and go as the please with the headmistress's permission.

the slums are dirty, dark, and very dangerous. the slums have its fair share of seedy bars and clubs. this is not an area for the faint of heart.

occasionally, the staff like to treat the best students to a little vacation away from the island especially for those who can't go home over the summer months. the academy has houses in england and ireland.
